Sturle Hauge Simonsen is the Senior Communications Lead for WWF’s Global Arctic Programme, overseeing the implementation and development of the programme’s communication and outreach efforts.

Sturle earned his Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications Studies from Brunel University and an Executive Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication from the University of Lugano.

Prior to joining WWF, Sturle worked as Head of Research Communication and News at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. For more than a decade, he also served as Head of Communication for the Stockholm Resilience Centre. Sturle is a member of the board for Mistra Environmental Communication, a research programme dedicated to investigating how communication shapes sustainability transformations.
