Kiira Keski-Nirva
ABOUT
Kiiras role is to contribute to the governance work of the WWF’s Arctic Program, in particular strengthening of the environmental governance of the Central Arctic Ocean. With one foot at the WWF Arctic Program and the other in WWF Norway, she’s focusing especially on the work of the Arctic Council and its three upcoming Nordic chairmanships.
Kiira has a Masters’ Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki, including exchange at the Indigenous Studies program at the University of Tromsø. She also has a mixed EU and Arctic policy background, working both in the private and public sector in Tromsø, Brussels and Oslo. Throughout her career Kiira has focused on climate, environment and energy policies on local, national and international level.
Outside office hours she likes to relax by doing yoga, singing in a choir and enjoying nature through hiking or kayaking.
