COP26 EVENT | 50% Reductions by 2030 for 1.5°C: No Negotiating with the World’s Ice

This event, 50% Reductions by 2030 for 1.5°C: No Negotiating with the World’s Ice, is co-hosted by WWF’s Arctic Programme.

Global impacts not just in, but from the cryosphere – sea-level rise, water resource loss from disappearing glaciers and snowpack, permafrost carbon emissions – mean that an overshoot of the 1.5°C Paris goal will lead to unacceptable loss and damage.

But some countries have legislated ways to meet that goal. Come hear how these countries have done this, and the motivation for ambition and urgency to limit warming to within 1.5°C.
