During COP 28 in Dubai, the world’s nations made a commitment to transition away from fossil fuels to reduce the planetary dependency on hydrocarbons via just and equitable transition to renewable energy. Unfortunately, we see in the data that the exploration and production of fossil fuels are instead rising across the globe, including in sensitive ecosystems such as marine ecosystems of the Arctic,  Brazil, the Congo Basins and Southeast Asia

The goal of this session is to bring together a community of experts to discuss the ways in which the growing presence and the expansion of fossil fuel projects into sensitive environments should be discouraged and phased out.
